I have always been interested in health care but was not interested in pursuing traditional medicine.

Why Chiropractic?

I did not appreciate how my doctor was just treating my symptoms and could not answer me when I asked why they were occurring. I heard some friends talk about their experiences with chiropractic so I looked into it. I realized that chiropractors look for what is causing symptoms instead of trying to just provide pain relief and I knew this was the path for me. As I went through chiropractic school and did my CrossFit workouts, I was bothered by the lack of mobility of some of my fellow Crossfitters, despite the trainer encouraging them to add more weight or do more reps with terrible form. That is when I became interested in movement patterns and how important they are to keeping people active and healthy. I soon realized just how many people could not pass a basic movement assessment, despite their physical abilities in the gym.

I graduated from California State University East Bay with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology with an emphasis in mircobiology. Then I went to Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California where I received my Doctorate in Chiropractic with cum laude honors. During my time in chiropractic school, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and had some life changing opportunities. I did two chiropractic mission trips to El Salvador where I served some of the most underprivileged communities. The appreciation that they had for the work we did was something I will never forget. I also had the opportunity to work as an intern at the 2017 US Sumo Open in Long Beach, California where we provided care to all of the athletes and staff. While on the Life West campus, I cared for two players of the Life West girl’s rugby team, one of which went on to play for the 2017 US Women’s Rugby team in the World Cup. I have also completed additional certifications with Rock Tape, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and Hawk Grips IASTM. I am also a Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner.

Just For Fun

I grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Sacramento county, in 2017. I have been an avid Crossfitter since 2012 but I also like staying active by hiking and kayaking. I have also been doing west coast swing dancing since 2006 and am on the board of directors for two different swing dance organizations. I also enjoy scrapbooking, traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
